What is QuiZoom.com?
QuiZoom is a site for sharing tastes, opinions, reviews and information.

You can create your own QuiZoom, a place with information all about you, that you want to share.

You can also check out other people's QuiZooms, finding out what they like in subjects that interest you, and/or by criteria such as a member's location, age etc.
How does QuiZoom.com work?
Quizzes are the core of QuiZoom. A Quiz is simply a set of questions about a certain subject. For example, a member may decide to create a Quiz about music. This Quiz could have a number of questions such as :

1) What are your top 5 favourite albums of all time ?
2) Who is your favourite band? Why?
3) How many CDs do you own?

etc.

Note that a Quiz can be on infinite number of topics. From International politics to art, cooking recipes to sports...

The other important step on quizoom.com is the creation of Zooms. When the subject of a Quiz interests a member, they can respond, giving their own answers to the questions in the Quiz. That member is then in the process of creating a new Zoom.

A Zoom is a collection of responses by one member to a certain Quiz, giving their tastes and opinions on the subject of that Quiz.

Once a new Zoom is created, it is automatically added to that member's QuiZoom. The QuiZoom is the collection of all those Zooms, all the answers that they've given to Quizzes.

To summarize :

- a Quiz is a questionnaire about a specific topic.

- a Zoom is the collection of answers that a members gives in a Quiz. It contains the opinions of that member about the subject of that Quiz.

- a member's QuiZoom is the collection of Zooms that they have filled out (which is the collection of answers they've given to the various Quizzes).
What is a Quiz?
A Quiz is a collection of questions on a specific topic, to find out the tastes and opinions of members who respond.

"American politics", "guitar" ou "analysis of film Memento" are examples of potential Quiz topics.
What is a Zoom?
A Zoom is the collection of answers that a member gives in a Quiz. It's the collection of opinions of that member on that Quiz topic.
What is a QuiZoom?
The QuiZoom of a member is first and foremost the collection of Zooms that this member has filled out. The place showing their opinions and tastes on a multitude of subjects.

The QuiZoom of a member also lists Quizzes they have started! In this way, the QuiZoom of a member groups together all the elements that they have created at quizoom.com
How do I create my QuiZoom?
Your QuiZoom, initially empty, will be created when you register.

Then you can fill out Quizzes, which will create Zooms that will be automatically added to your QuiZoom.
Which languages can be used on quizoom.com?
Quizzes in literally all languages can be created on quizoom.com. In creating a Quiz, the member must indicate which language is being used. Zooms filled out in this Quiz will be considered as having been filled out in that same language.

However, QuiZoom has a more limited choice of languages for displaying the actual site (menu, help text, etc.). For now, only English and French are offered, but a translation into other languages will be completed in due time, as quizoom.com develops.
How do I change the display language?
To change the site language, click on the drop-down menu, at the upper right hand corner of the site.
What is the "Mark all as read" link for?
The "Mark all as read" link resets to zero the moment at which items are considered "new". Once you click on that link, only items created or modified after that point will indicate being new or modified.
What are the types of visibility, or "access levels", of a Quiz?
A Quiz has two "access levels" or ways of being seen, to do with:

- Who will be able to fill out the Quiz?

- Who will be able to see Zooms created from the Quiz?

Who will be able to fill out the Quiz?

- Register on QuiZoom:

If you choose this option, only people who are registered on QuiZoom will be able to fill out your Quiz. This option is practical for being able to easily moderate a Quiz. If you don't choose this option, even people who are not registered will be able to fill out your Quiz, and this means that it will be impossible for you to block the author of a Zoom that may have written things you don't like or has sent undesirable content (spam).

However, not checkmarking this box (and thus allowing anyone to fill out the Quiz) is the best way of accessing the largest possible audience. If, for example, you would like a certain group of people to fill out a Quiz without obliging them to register on QuiZoom before being able to provide their answers, it may be better to not choose this option..

- who knows the password:

In choosing this option, you permit only those people who know the password that you will specify to be able to fill out the Quiz. This option has the advantage of controlling a lot better, who, precisely, you will allow to respond to the Quiz. It's an ideal choice if you want to share the Quiz with a closed circle of friends. However, in choosing this option, you automatically stop anyone who does not know the password from filling out the Quiz, and this can be a shame because the pleasure of QuiZoom is first and foremost learning about the tastes and opinions of others!

Who would be able to see the Zooms resulting from this Quiz?

- Everyone:

This option will allow everyone, without no exceptions, to see the Zooms resulting from your Quiz.

- Those who know the password:

Only people who know the password will be able to see the Zooms resulting from your Quiz.

- Only me:

Only you will be able to see the Zooms resulting from your Quiz. Even people who may know the password won't be able to.

Notice that, no matter what level of access a Quiz has, the author of a Zoom will always be able to see this latter, even if you have chosen "Only me" in the who can see the Zooms option.

Notice also that no matter what level of accessibility a Quiz has, it will always be listed in your QuiZoom: the title and description will be visible by everyone. However, only Quiz that don't need a password will be listed on the welcome page and the general Quiz page. Same thing for the Zooms: all the Zooms you have filled out will be listed in your QuiZoom, but only people with access rights will be able to see their content.
What are Quiz categories ?
Assigning your Quizzes to a category allows you to better classify the Quizzes. For example, this allows you to search for lists of Quizzes that are only in a specific category.

When creating a Quiz, choose the category that best describes it.

If your cookies are not active, each URL will contain your session identifier (PHPSESSID). How is this dangerous? If you copy this address and send it to someone, it is possible for that person to steal your identity and carry out operations under your name.

If you are absolutely decided to not permit cookies on QuiZoom, be certain to not share an address containing "PHPSESSID"!

What does the "Time Zone" control do?
The time used on QuiZoom.com is UTC by default. It is possible for you to find yourself in a different time zone.

So that the hour of your time zone is used, you must specify the number of hours that need to be added or subtracted.
What is a confirmation code (CAPTCHA)?
A visual confirmation code (CAPTCHA) is used to avoid spamming on quizoom.com. It insures that it is a legitimate member who is submitting information, and not an automated system.

Once this type of code is asked for, you must, before submitting the page, write the characters in the appropriate field.
How do I use the search function?
Searches work by entering in desired key terms. For example, [ bass guitar ] will return all items containing "guitar" and "bass". It is also possible to use brackets to search for a specific phrase. For example, [ "velvet underground" ] will return all items that contain those two words in that order.

There is an exception to this : the search for usernames. The use of brackets being understood, the key words searched for must be in the propre order, one after another.

On the other hand, when searching for usernames, it is possible to use a wildcard "*", that represents any chain of characters. For example, [ ro* ] will return all the members that have a username starting with "ro": roger, Rodger, Roberto, etc.
